グラフェンは、原子厚が1つしかない2次元炭素膜であり、この新しい材料は化学的に安定しており、他の物質との結合が困難である。グラフェンは現在発見されている硬度が最も大きい物質であり、優れた導電性と熱伝導性を有している。TEMナノ粒子の観測は極めて便利であり、ナノ粒子界面の研究者に非常に役立ち、特にナノ粒子が小さく、付着力が悪い場合にはこのような特製の電子顕微鏡載網を使用することができる。
現在、有孔炭素膜被膜、2000目銅メッシュ被膜、有孔窒化シリコン窓(2.5µm細孔)被膜及びシリカ薄膜(基材はシリコンシート)被膜。従来提供されているのは4種類の厚さのグラフェン膜である:
1. 単層グラフェン、厚さ約0.35nm
2. 2層グラフェン、厚さ約0.7nm
3. 3-5層グラフェン、1.0-1.7nm
4. 6-8層グラフェン、2.1-2.8nm
グラフェン支持膜は、少なくともネットワーク面積全体を覆う75%の領域を選択し、一般的には重複やしわのない領域を選択してサンプルを配置します。グラフェン支持膜は超薄(炭素膜よりはるかに薄い)、導電性であり、それ自体は結晶構造を呈し、信号の騒音は相対的に低い。
